Earlier this summer I finished a full draft of a book on apocalypse in the early Middle Ages. There will likely be much more about that kind of thing in the coming months, not least as about half of the book concerns the Merovingian world. In the meantime, I have been recording a few introductory little things about The End as part of my teaching at St Andrews (ME3231: Medieval Apocalyptic Traditions).  You can find them here. “Enjoy” would probably be a bit strong, but anyway: there they are.

I was going to insert a gratuitous picture of the Corbie Pseudo-Methodius (Paris, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, lat. 13348), as I had great fun studying it in Paris while doing the research for the book. But the images have been taken off Gallica. So here’s a gratuitous picture of St Gall’s copy (St Gall, Stiftsbibliothek, Cod. Sang. 225) from the middle of the eighth century!
